November OT

Still doing great...independently puts 6 of 7 picture-on-picture puzzle pieces in the correct place. Stacks 5-10 blocks. Is beginning to imitate drawing lines: vertically and horizontally. Puts beads on a pipe cleaner but cannot advance them down the pipecleaner, so they stay at the top and eventually fall off. Uses a pincer grasp (thumb and index finger) inconsistently. Is good with activities that require eye hand coordination, but has a harder time with activities requiring strength. Is beginning to wheel barrow walk 5-10 steps forward. Still has weak trunk muscles and we are working on her "righting" herself when she's moved side to side on a big ball. She giggles a lot, but has a hard time sitting herself back up when she falls over. No more crying before/during therapy. Starting to attempt to name objects when asked but often just refuses to vocalize, even though she has in the past. Stinker. Still hasn't decided on right or left hand preference...switches a lot. classroom is working on using spoon and fork. Can get out of her chair at the table, but needs help getting into her chair. She has a great attention span and listens well...doesn't always follow through with requests, but she's 2.
